It is a source of Yamuna river,it is located in 150 kilometers North of Uttarkashi ,a frozen lake of ice and glacier located on the Kalind Mountain at the height of 4,421 m . The cheif attraction in the yamunotri is the temple devoted to the goddess yamuna . The diety is made of black marble, there are hot water spring located in near the temple. surya kund is the most important kund ,near the kund there is a Shilla called Divya.
