About Us

Birla Institute of Scientific Research (BISR) founded by renowned industrialist Shri B. M. Birla, in the newly developed industrial belt of Bhimtal. The aim was to provide basic workshop facilities and testing grounds for entrepreneurs in the region to establish industrial units.With the backing of educational institutions such as Birla Technology Institute, Mesra, Ranchi and B. M. Birla Science & Technology Centre, Jaipur The creation of an education institution on the same site was a logical progression. In 1990 the Institute started its doctoral program in electronic education leading to a degree in MCA.
